Bio

Angela grew up in the west coast of Scotland and began making music at a young age. She graduated from the Ian Tomlin School of Music, Napier University, Edinburgh studying classical piano with Clare Sutherland, vocal coaches Andrew Doig, Joan Busby and Jazz instruction from Eddie Severn and Haftor Medbøe. Angela also had the privilege to learn with Malcolm Martineau and BBC music producer Paul Hamburger whilst studying piano accompaniment at the Oxenfoord International Summer School.

She travelled extensively as a pianist with Holland America Line for eight years, all the while continuing her land career with performances in the United Kingdom and the United States. Angela holds over twenty years of piano teaching experience and provided valuable music education to 4-11 year olds within the Scottish Education System.  

Recent shows have been: Are We Almost There? (Pianist); Foodies! The Musical (Pianist); Assisted Living: The Musical (Actor/Pianist/MD); The Oldest Profession (Musical Director/Pianist); Party of 2 (Pianist) and Shopping! The Musical (Pianist). Her work in The Oldest Profession earned her a nomination for a San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics' Circle Award, Specialities (Piano Player).  

Since arriving in the Bay Area, Angela has worked with many artists, schools and organizations including: ArtsBridge; AWAT Productions; Bay Area Children’s Theatre; Brava! for Women in the Arts; Children's Day School; Laughing Tiger Studio; Lick Wilmerding High School; The Performing Arts Project; Pocket Opera; Ray of Light Theatre; St. Ignatius College Preparatory; SF Opera Guild; Secret Improv Society; Shari Carlson Studio; Spicemix Studios; West Coast Opera; 3x3 Productions.

She is faculty at the Amabile School of Music, organist at Sei Ko Kai Christ Church and is involved in many musical productions, classes & performances around the Bay Area.
